The Marketing/Communications Intern will work directly with the Executive Director to help promote POWER!, its mission, and downtown programs/events. Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
-Assist with managing and building the POWER! website (using squarespace) and social media sites.
-Assist with developing and updating contact lists.
-Assist with the development of newsletters, press releases, and a variety of other communication tools.
-Assist and attend community events and fundraisers
-Attending meetings and taking notes and photographs for news releases and web content.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
-Familiarity with a variety of social media outlets
-Journalism and/or graphic design experience is a plus.
-Associated major is preferred but all will be considered
-Strong communication skills
-Desire to get hands on work experience and be consistently
challenged in the program
-Ability to function professionally in a fast-paced environment
-Ability to work without direct supervision
-Students must be enrolled in school or no more than 6 months out of school
